Participation in Zevenluik from Baaigem, together with Jan Burssens, Camille D’Havé, Karel Dierickx, Pjeroo Roobjee, Lionel Vinche and others. Dan Van Severen designed the front of the seven shutter (zevenluik).

Birth of daughter Isabelle.
Takes part in the exhibition Facets of young Flemish art in the Museum of fine arts in Antwerp.

Establishes himself in the Oudegemsebaan 8 in Oudegem.
The Flemish government acquires the painting Woensdagmorgen.

Establishes himself in the Kerkstraat 84 in Dendermonde.
Takes part in the happening Electro – Poème in the casino in Knokke, together with André Desramaux, Leo Kupper and Lionel Vinche.

Plays the protagonist part in the shortfilm Les gardiens, based on a story from Jean Ray. The movie has been shown on the RTB, ORTF, the French, Swiss and French-Canadian television.

Establishes himself in the Ramlotstraat 34 in Sint-Gillis – Dendermonde.
Meets the Brussels photographer Willy Kessels, who becomes a good friend.
1965
Establishes himself the Potiaulaan in Sint-Gillis – Dendermonde.
First individual exhibition in the gallery La Madeleine in Brussels.
Gets acquainted with several artists in the Brussels artist café Le petit rouge, a.o. E.L.T. Mesens.

Married Thérèse Van Hiel.
1963
Fulfills his military service in the Leopoldskazerne in Ghent.
He gets acquainted with Lionel Vinche, who also establishes his workshop in Vlassenbroek. A large friendship is set between the two artists, who for several years will work very closely together (a.o. several wall paintings).
1962
Leaves Antwerp and establishes himself in Vlassenbroek, one of Baasrode’s hamlets to the dike of the river Schelde.
Opens an art gallery and an artist’s café.
1959
Meets René De Conick, an etch artist and decides to sign up for the etch class at the academy in Antwerp.
1958
Decides to leave Ghent and to sign up at the Royal Academy in Antwerp, where he takes classes from a.o. Antoon Marsboom.
Visits the worldexhibition in Brussels (Expo 58) together with Fred Bervoets and Tone Pauwels.
The exhibition: 50 years of Modern Art makes a strong impression on the young artist.
